The Centaurus Orchestra program includes three different orchestras. Concert Orchestra is open to all string students with at least two years of experience and is primarily for freshman students. String Orchestra is open to all string students with at least four years of experience and is primarily for students who have completed the Concert Orchestra course. Chamber Orchestra, which meets after school, is open to all orchestra students who are wishing to advance their skills.
Performances throughout the year include two regular concerts, one collaborative concert with Angevine 7th/8th grade orchestras, and one concert with full orchestra pieces. The groups also tour the local middle schools and participate in a local and/or out-of-state festival annually.
Students who are registered for Concert Orchestra or String Orchestra also have the opportunity to join one of our local youth symphony orchestras and/or audition for Jeff10, All-State Orchestra, and the Western States Honor Orchestra Festival.
