Principal's Message
Welcome to Centaurus High School.
"You Belong Here" is more than a slogan—it's our commitment. Whether you're a student, family member, staff member, or part of our broader community, you belong here in your full humanity: your ideas, your dreams, your culture, your questions, your quirks, and your potential.
Belonging begins with the four touchpoints of connection—connection to one another, to this school and its spirit, to trusted adults who believe in you, and to learning that engages and challenges you. Belonging means you’re seen, heard, and valued for who you are and who you're becoming.
But belonging isn’t the end goal. It’s the foundation for something greater: perseverance.
Because let’s be honest—life is hard. Learning is hard. Growth takes effort. But at Centaurus, we believe in the power of yet. “I don’t know… yet.” “I haven’t figured it out… yet.” That one word carries hope, and with it, the qualities that lead to greatness: tenacity, grit, and resilience.
Tenacity is the willingness to keep going when things get tough.
Grit is the strength to show up again and again, even after failure.
Resilience is the ability to bounce back, to rebuild, and to rise.
These are the habits of mind that turn struggle into success and effort into excellence. They are not just academic tools—they are life tools.
And they are deeply rooted in our school values: HEART—Honor, Empathy, Achievement, Respect, and Triumph.
We live these values every day, and we believe in them because they shape not only who we are, but who we strive to become. Triumph isn’t just an aspiration—it’s a part of our identity.
At Centaurus, we nurture these values because we believe in your capacity to learn, to lead, and to triumph.
So yes—you belong here. And because you belong, you will thrive.
Let’s get to work.

Parents and Guardians Belong Here:
So, you want to see all this in-person, in action, huh? In the wise words of Rumi, “what you seek is seeking you”... and I’d much rather meet and be with you in-person, too. My team and I are continually and intentionally creating ways to make this happen:
SAC: Are you a parent that would like to get involved and meet other involved parents? Join SAC! We are a team that works with each other and the administration to make Centaurus a better place by reviewing budgets, driving school reform, and supporting parent engagement. Check the SAC Page for more information.
Coffee with the Principal. These informal meetings are a space for parents and guardians can come together with me over coffee and donuts for conversations about what’s going on, what’s working, what’s not, why things are the way they are, and ways we might go about changing them. Come for as long as you’d like! Meetings will be held in the Fishbowl at Centaurus High on:
- Friday, September 12 (9-10am)
- Thursday, October 9 (9-10am)
- Friday, November 14 (9-10am)
- Thursday, January 15 (9-10am)
- Friday, February 27 (9-10am)
- Friday, April 10 (9-10am)
FET: Our Family and Educators Together (FET) meetings are held once a month. These meetings are vital to our school’s continual partnership with our community, and provide a space that serves and prioritizes specifically our Latino families and members. It is a space of shared knowledge where we are continually learning how to best connect cultures. We also provide Tacos Ay Ay Ay and raffles! See our FET page for more information.
Mental Health Nights for Parents: Our MHA team will be hosting a slew of events for parents to attend and develop their toolkits for mental health awareness. Check the Warrior Weekly for more information!
And More! Stay in-touch with our Warrior Weekly newsletter, sent every week via email/School Messenger (and can also be found here), and you can always fill out a Principal's Survey.
