BVSD students currently in Grade 8 will receive instructions about how to enter course selections and about what they should know about high school, credits, and graduation requirements. Students should consult their 8th grade teachers about course placement advice for next year. Use the Course Worksheet to plan your courses.

Students must send their course requests to the Centaurus counseling office by March 1. Please email all completed course request forms to Marla Joy Leonard at marlajoy.pacella-leo@bvsd.org.

Course Recommendations and Override

• The current classroom teacher is the best person to advise students on the proper course level for the following year. A course advising day is built into the Centaurus schedule, and students will receive placement recommendations from core academic teachers. 

• If a student disagrees with a level placement recommendation, they may override the teacher’s recommendation by using the Recommendation Override Form. Be advised that there may not be room in the original class, should they override and then find that they are in fact not prepared for the class.

 

Students must send their course requests to the Centaurus counseling office by March 5. Please email all completed course request forms to Marla Joy Leonard at marlajoy.pacella-leo@bvsd.org.
