1:Web Chromebook Program
General Information
Centaurus participates in the BVSD 1:Web Program.
Over the course of 4 years at Centaurus, families pay an annual fee to purchase a device through the district. During this time, the district provides software and services on the devices. Once the device is paid for (usually during senior year), it is yours to keep.
Students who come to Centaurus after their freshmen year will be backcharged for the device.
Families are allowed to opt-out of the program, but must provide a device for the student to work with themselves. Some classes may require the use of proprietary software that BVSD 1:Web devices have installed, and thus, students who opt-out of the program have to borrow devices from the school, which may impact timeliness.
Parents/Guardians must either opt-in or opt-out of the program. They can do this through the Infinite Campus portal (instructions), or by filling in form and giving it to Mr. Houk in the library.
